Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres is not ashamed to admit that she wears her clothes over and over again.

Being a celebrity, fashion is a sort of automatic thing. This is the reason why many celebrities hire stylists to take care of their outfits, especially on certain occasions. However, for Lucy sustainable fashion is important.

In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, the wife of actor-politician Richard Gomez said that she is an outfit-repeater. “Because clothes are not meant to be disposable,” Lucy Torres said.

She added that if things you buy are disposable, that means that they don’t have good quality or the style is not done properly. “You shouldn’t buy clothes na after isang suot itatapon mo na, kasi nagutay na siya or it doesn’t really fit you,” she stressed.

The Mayor said that she is practical when it comes to buying clothes. She promotes sustainable fashion. Lucy said that once you have an item that you keep on wearing several times, that means that item is a nice one.

In order to showcase the sense of being unique, Lucy said that you can dress up or down a certain outfit or change the accessories you use. For maximizing the wardrobe, the celebrity politician said that it is a must to buy pieces that make you look and feel good.

“I think para siyang [clothes] kaibigan. Kilalanin mo yung katawan mo. Dapat malaman mo kung ano yung bagay sa iyo and then dun ka lang maglaro,” she shared. Lucy Torres stressed the importance of knowing the style that fits a certain person.

Aside from being the mother of Ormoc, Lucy also has a job designing for the clothing brand Kashieca. She said that if people would buy her designs, she want them to wear the clothes over and over again.
