Billy Crawford received praise for his ‘Danse avec les stars‘ performance
Singer-host Billy Crawford shared the “hell” he went through after he performed the song L’enfer in Danse avec les stars (Dancing with the Stars).
L’enfer was sung by Belgian singer-songwriter Stromae. The song title is translated in English as “hell.” Billy did a great job in interpreting the said song with his dance partner Fauve Hautot.
Aside from the dance moves that he and his partner showcased, they also accompanied their performance with emotions that went along with the song. At the end of the performance, Billy’s tears fell as he sustained the emotion.
The audience applaud their performance and the judges were stunned as well, based on the article in PEP. “You gave me goosebumps. You were in symbiosis, it was very touching,” a judge said while the other one has this comment, “It’s completely crazy what we just saw.”
For the special duel episode of the celebrity dance competition, Israeli singer Stéphane Legar was Billy Crawford’s opponent. The judges had a hard time who to choose for this round because both stars performed well. In the end, they gave their vote to the Filipino singer-host.
Speaking after his performance, Billy shared what he went through in his life before that he considered “hell.” “It speaks to me because I’ve already been through hell. I no longer wanted to live,” he said, translated to English.
He also mentioned the phase in his life in which he displayed a “freak out” attitude after his successful career in Europe back in 2000. His mental health was compromised and he suffered from alcoholism.
After what he went through, Billy Crawford said that he is thankful he ended that phase of his life and he was able to change his life’s direction when he met his wife actress Coleen Garcia and had their son Amari.
