Jeric Gonzales had to go through this controversy
Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales recalled his past controversial video that affected his self-esteem when this became viral.
Jeric had his fair share of controversies in the past. It is inevitable for celebrities to be involved in this kind of situation. Some are just made up against them but there were also times that they have committed mistakes.
During a recent episode of the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast, based on the article in PEP, the actor was asked about the biggest struggle that he went through. Jeric recalled the time when he was involved in a scandal.
It was because of his controversial video that circulated on social media. Back then, it was just his second or third year in showbiz. “I was involved in an ano… yung scandal, of course. Parang social media scandal. I went viral talaga. Hindi ko alam kung paano siya iha-handle that time,” Jeric Gonzales shared.
Because of what happened, he said that he did not want to go out anymore during that time. He realized that he was so ashamed to be seen by other people when he came a trending topic on social media for a bad reason.
“Nakakahiya talaga. Wala yung self-esteem mo, talagang down talaga,” the Kapuso actor said. Thankfully, Jeric was able to have his support system while going through that problem and it was his family.
At that time, he was guided as well by his home network. “Ginuide talaga nila ako na kahit na anong isyu ‘yan, parang, if you will do good, parang mas makikita nila yung positive sa ‘yo, yung good sa ‘yo, yung pagbabago sa ‘yo,'” Jeric shared.
From that controversy, he was able to bounce back and he was able to improve himself as well. That situation also made him inspired to be better. When asked about the reaction of his family to the controversy, Jeric Gonzales said that they did not judge him.
He shared that his family was quite sensitive because in the first place they did not want him to be in the entertainment industry.
