Bongbong Marcos Asked If He Will Attend the Next Comelec-Led Debate

Will Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Attend the Debate Sponsored by Comelec?

BONGBONG MARCOS – The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer was asked if he will attend the next debate sponsored by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The campaign period is currently ongoing in the Philippines, Grand rallies are held everywhere in the country as the candidates try to reach more people to campaign before they will no longer be allowed to. Caravans are usually held as the local governments welcome the presidential and the vice-presidential candidates for the upcoming poll.

Aside from the grand rallies, also among the things that many voters await are the interviews and debates. Recently, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) held its first part of the CNN Presidential and Vice-Presidential Debate 2022.

Nine (9) presidential candidates for the May 2022 Election graced the event, presented their platforms and visions for the country, answered specific issues thrown at them, and revealed their standpoints on certain national and global issues. Only one candidate for president was absent – former Sen. Bongbong Marcos.

According to the camp of the former Senator, he wants the format of the debate to be tackled with the Comelec and the other presidential candidates first before the event. Also one of those that he wants to be discussed prior to the event are the issues that will be raised.

The camp of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer wrote a letter to Comelec regarding their request but the poll body was allegedly unable to respond to it. The event pushed through and while the nine (9) candidates were at the debate, Marcos Jr. continued with his campaign.

Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos was asked in a chance interview if he would attend the next Comelec-led debate. In the first event, an empty podium for him was spotted and the photo made rounds on social media eliciting different reactions.

“I don’t know, I’m still looking at the format,” the PFP standard-bearer said.
