Vice Pres. Robredo’s Bid for President Backed by Economists Including Former NEDA Chiefs
ECONOMISTS – At least 137 economists including five (5) former chiefs of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) support the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.
Running as an independent candidate in the upcoming May 2022 Election, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo is one of the 10 presidential bets that remain on the official ballot. The Vice President tapped Liberal Party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, as her running-mate in the upcoming election.
The Leni-Kiko recently held their proclamation rally in Naga, Camarines Sur. The supporters of the tandem, or the #Kakampinks, filled the public plaza where the Vice President spoke assuring the public that she is not afraid or worried because of the support she gets from the people.
Recently, another huge group of people in the same field expressed their support to the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, at least 137 economists back the Vice President’s bid for president in the upcoming May 2022 Election.
According to the report, among the economists who back the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo are five (5) former chiefs of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). They are the following:
- Ernesto Pernia, the NEDA Chief under Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte
- Solita Monsod, the NEDA Chief under former Pres. Cory Aquino
- Cielito Habito, the NEDA Chief under former Pres. Fidel Ramos
- Dante Canlas, the NEDA Chief under former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
- Emmanuel Esguerra, the NEDA Chief under former Pres. Noynoy Aquino
Aside from the economists, groups of doctors, veterinarians, and lawyers have also expressed their support to Vice Pres., Robredo in her presidential bid. The Vice President vowed to give the people an honest government if she wins president in the next election.
Under her leadership in the Office of the Vice President, the OVP was awarded thrice by the highest rating of the Commission on Audit (COA). She has always been vocal about transparency and she wants to push for full disclosure of the government deals to the public.
