CORY AQUINO – The late former President Corazon Aquino revealed in a past interview the statement of her husband, the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino Jr., before he flew back to the Philippines.

Ninoy and Cory are undeniably two of the most significant personalities in Philippine history. The couple is tagged as the heroes of democracy. He died fighting for his beliefs for democracy while she rose as the 1st female President who’s greatly loved by Filipinos.

The late former Senator was imprisoned but he continued his fight for what he believed in. He has a heart attack and flew to the United States for his medical treatment.

The couple has five children – daughters Ballsy, Pinky, Viel, and Kris and their only son, former Pres. Noynoy Aquino. Of their five children, the former President and Kris, an actress-TV host, are known to the public.

Yesterday marked the death anniversary of the late former Sen. Ninoy Aquino Jr. Last August 21, 1983, he decided to go home to the Philippines despite the uncertainty of what may happen.

Upon his arrival at the airport – now the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the former Senator was shot. It left countless hearts broken but filled a lot of people with courage to fight for what he believed in.

As part of the 37th death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino, a documentary entitled “The Last Journey of Ninoy” is now available on iWant TV. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, part of it were the last statements of the former Senator with former Pres. Cory Aquino.

In a previous interview, former Pres. Cory Aquino revealed that she has asked her husband on what may happen when he arrives in the Philippines. His answer revealed that death has crossed his mind but he is willing to offer his life for the country.

Before he left, sabi ko, ‘Ninoy can you tell me what possible scenarios there will be. The answer he said was ‘But if they make a mistake and they have me killed and that’s the best thing that can happen to me. Because I’ve always wanted to die for my country’,” the former President said.

Based on the report, the former President also expressed in the interview that getting closer to God amid everything that happened to them was the best thing that took place between both of them.

In the documentary directed by Jun Reyes, two voices can be heard – Ninoy and Cory’s. It is a product of the Ninoy and Cory Foundation led by the Director.
