The culprits were apprehended by Luis Frigillana, a barangay councilor in Sampaloc. Torno argued that the stolen steel was the only source of sustenance, but the councilor saw that there were a lot of them.

To the media, the suspect denied the theft. He told the reporters that the alleged contractor of the construction site had just handed him the steel for free. But according to the barangay councilor, the suspect was referring to a warehouseman rather than a contractor.

However, Frigillana argued that the contractor stated that there was no proof that the suspect was handed the irons. In connection with the occurrence, the contractor’s side has yet to be contacted.

Torno will be charged with theft. The P10,000 worth of stolen scaffolding supplies was recovered. According to the barangay, the NLEX-SLEX link road is constantly stolen steel, thus the area’s lighting was raised three months ago.
