Eight Dead Amid ‘Panic’ at Travis Scott Concert
TRAVIS SCOTT CONCERT – American rapper Travis Scott performed at Astroworld Festival on Friday in Houston. At least people died and numerous others were injured.
Jacques Bermon Webster II or better known as Travis Scott is an American singer, rapper, and record producer. He is best known for his 3rd studio album “Astroworld.” It was released in 2018 and features vocals from Drake.
The 29-year-old artist has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and has won a Latin Grammy Award and a Billboard Music Award. He has a daughter with the media personality, model, and businesswoman Kylie Jenner. They are expecting a second child.
Travis Scott founded the music festival called “Astroworld” in 2018. He named it after his hit album. His 3rd music festival last year was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is located at Houston’s former Six Flags amusement park.

Based on a report from New York Times, crowds surged at Travis Scott’s two-day music festival in Houston on Friday. Houston’s fire chief Samuel Peña said 50,000 people were there.
Peña said during a performance by the rapper, “caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries.” City officials said at least eight (8) people were killed during the concert. The people who died ranged from 14 to 17. Dozens were also injured.
According to the city officials, the injured included a child as young as 10. In a statement posted on Twitter, the rapper said that the authorities had his “total support” as it investigates the deaths.
A source told People that Travis’s partner Kylie Jenner and her sister, Kendall Jenner are not unharmed following the mass casualty event.
