The issue between Nadine Lustre and VAA may affect her upcoming concert
Actress-singer Nadine Lustre is set to hold a virtual concert titled Absolute Madness on July 3, however, a lawyer said that this might happen if it will push through.
This is in line with the issue that Nadine has with the Viva Artist Agency. To recall, the actress-singer “terminated” her contract with Viva because allegedly, it was “oppressive”.
However, on June 14, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court ordered Nadine to honor her contract with the talent management firm. Despite this decision of the court, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, the legal counsel of Nadine Lustre said that their camp won as the court did not allow VAA to get the assets of the actress-singer.
The lawyer of Nadine also said that her virtual concert will push through. With this, based on the article in PEP, this could result to “contempt of court”.
Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, who is also a movie producer and a self-confessed fan of Nadine said, “Contempt of court kapag itinuloy ni Nadine ang concert niya. Pati yung mga sponsor ng concert, pwedeng madamay dahil pwede silang mademanda for tortious interference with a contract. Contempt of court yun. Pwede siyang ma-fine, pwedeng makulong.”
He added that it will depend on the court if how much will the fine be and Nadine Lustre might get imprisoned for 30 days. Atty. Topacio also contradicted the statement of Atty. Kapunan that their camp won. “Yun ang tinatawag na spin. Grabeng pagkatalo yun, total defeat. Paano ka nanalo?” he said.
The lawyer-producer also said that the court stated that the contract is valid while the lawyer of Nadine Lustre is saying otherwise. “Valid yung contract, hindi ka pwedeng gumawa ng kahit ano except for Viva at may damages ka,” Atty. Topacio stressed.
