Black Propaganda Against Ping Lacson Amid Candidacy Exposed by Columnist
A black propaganda campaign against Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson was exposed by a veteran journalist on Thursday amid his presidential candidacy.
A well-known columnist and TV talk show host Cito Beltran revealed in his program “Agenda” a certain PR approached him to discredit the senator. However, Beltran denies it due to a lack of evidence.
“Thank you for confirming it,” Lacson replied, who has often been the target of black propaganda since his first term as senator in 2001.

Partido Reporma spokesperson Ashley Acedillo recently revealed these dirty tricks against Lacson’s candidacy for the Presidency including spreading fake news on social media that he has backed down or has plans to back down from running in the election and the mobile presidential ‘text’ survey in which Lacson’s name was removed from the list of presidential options.
Lacson recalled that in 2001, he became the target of black propaganda from the Arroyo administration. As a result, he was forced to file a libel case against those involved in this dirty campaign, in order to protect his dignity.
In 2017, former Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines head Victor Corpus apologized to Lacson for linking the senator to illegal activities. The Philippine Daily Inquirer also issued a public apology for publishing the column containing fake news against the senator in 2019.
On the other hand, the Supreme Court dismissed the cases filed against Lacson. Despite this, Lacson thinks it is time to decriminalize libel because there is no limit to the scope of information technology.
