NBI Arrested a Woman for Using the Name of Solon to Solicit Money
The operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a woman who allegedly uses the name of a solon to solicit money from the public.
Christine Joy Lagrisola was identified as the suspect by NBI Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Director Eric B. Distor. The case arose from a request by Congressman Michael Romero, a member of the 1PACMAN Party-list, to look into the suspect’s illegal activity.
The suspect identified herself as a member of the legislature’s staff, according to the report of NBI. She also used the name of Congressman Romero to obtain funds for her business.

According to the NBI, the subject said the alleged investor will be a sub-junket operator. The complainant was able to provide P 2,500,000.00, for which he was promised a 27 percent interest rate.
However, no income was returned to the complainant other than the fact that it issued a bounced check. As a result, the complainant checked with the congressman’s office to see if the suspect was one of his employees and had the authority to seek investment funds on his behalf.
When the legislator learned of the suspect’s scheme, he denied it and quickly filed a report with the National Bureau of Investigation. The senator claimed in his letter to the NBI that he had no ties to the suspect and that he had no financial interest in any gambling business in the country.
An entrapment operation was conducted in a condominium in New Manila, Quezon City. The guy, who was accused of swindling/estafa, was still wearing a House Representatives emblem on his ID.
