Willie Revillame is being encouraged by the President to join politics
President Rodrigo Duterte is urging Wowowin host Willie Revillame to run for Senator in the 2022 elections through this video message.
Willie is just among many celebrities who support the administration of Pres. Duterte. In January, the veteran TV host received a birthday message from the Chief Executive of the Philippines.
About two months after that, Kuya Wil shared that he had a chance to meet with the President and one of the topics they talked about was the election next year.
Reportedly, the President asked Willie Revillame to keep his options open when it comes to politics. It has been speculated that the game show host might enter the political arena also.
The President has also commended the TV host for his efforts to lend a helping hand to many Filipinos amid the crisis.
However, Kuya Wil has not responded any concrete answer to that statement of the President in March. Just recently, based on the article in gmanetwork.com, President Duterte has once again urged the veteran TV host to run in the next election.
In a video message, the Chief Executive expressed that he wants Kuya Wil to be a Senator. “Willie, si mayor ‘to. Kumusta ka? Matagal na tayong ‘di nagkita pero palagi kitang naaalala dahil gusto ko sanang maging senador ka,” the former Davao City Mayor said.
Pres. Duterte said, that based on Senator Bong Go’s statement, Willie Revillame is still hesitant about entering the political arena.
“Pero ganun pa man open ang slot until the last minute. Kung ayaw mo na talaga eh ‘di pwede na tayo mag-usap ulit, Bilib ako sa appeal mo sa masa,” the Chief Executive added.
