Here’s what Michael V said about his rumored network transfer
Comedian-vlogger Michael V, also known as Bitoy, reacted to the speculation that he will be leaving GMA-7 after reports surfaced that he did not renew his contract.
Bitoy has been working under the management of the Kapuso network for decades now. His gag show Bubble Gang has been airing for more than 20 years and he has been part of Eat Bulaga as well.
The comedian is also the creative mind behind Pepito Manaloto, aside from being the lead actor of the sitcom. With these big projects, no doubt that Bitoy is one of the prized talents of GMA-7.
That is probably the reason why many were confused when the network transfer rumors circulated. It was alleged that he did not renew his contract with the Kapuso network and this prompted some to speculate that he is ready to do projects in other networks.
In line with this issue, based on the article in PEP, Michael V has reacted. He clarified that he is still part of the prequel of his sitcom, the Pepito Manaloto: Unang Kuwento.
He insisted that he cannot work even behind the scene, such as conceptualizing, if he has no existing contract with GMA-7.
“Yes, I still have a contract. It’s a network protocol. Hindi naman ako makakagawa ng show nang walang kontrata,” the comedian said.
When it comes to the network transfer speculations, he said, “As per the ‘lipatan issue,’ I think it’s an ‘Internet thing.’ It’s as true as June being my birthday month and people are greeting me on social media without checking readily available facts.”
