PDP-Laban Wants Pres. Duterte To Run for Vice President in 2022
PDP-LABAN – The political party of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is determined to convince him to run for vice president in the 2022 Elections.
As the 2022 Elections is approaching, names of possible presidential candidates are crossing the surface too. Many are curious on who might succeed President Rodrigo Roa Duterte as he is vocal that he will retire from politics.
One of the names in the results of surveys for possible presidential candidates is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Many people are actually calling for a Duterte-Duterte tandem as they want the Chief Executive to run for vice president.
Many of the partymates of Pres. Duterte in PDP-Laban wants him to run as vice president in the 2022 Elections. They believe that he can serve as an excellent workmate of the next president considering his knowledge in the problems faced by the country now.
However, according to the President, he is planning to retire after he steps down as the Chief Executive in 2022. He also does not want his daughter, Mayor Sara Duterte, to run for president.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, even if the President is saying that he wants to retire, the PDP-Laban is determined to convince him to run for vice president in the 2022 Elections. The party’s deputy secretary general, Melvin Matibag, expressed that the statement of the Chief Executive even made them more interested to convince him.
“Kasi sabi niya diba… ‘I will resist gusto ko na magbakasyon’, ibig sabihin pinag-iisipan niya, just like sa lahat ng bagay na dedesisyonan niya, binabalanse niya” Matibag said.
The party’s Deputy Secretary General stressed that he knows very well how Pres. Duterte thinks. According to him, the President always listen to the voice of the masses.
