Here’s what Sharon Cuneta feels for marrying early and being a mother at a young age.
SHARON CUNETA – OPM icon and country’s Megastar Sharon Cuneta speaks about her past, marrying and being a mother at an early age.
At 18 years old, Sharon Cuneta married her ex-husband Gabby Concepcion in one of the grandest wedding in show business history and gave birth to their first child, KC Concepcion, at the age of 19. However, their marriage didn’t work out. They legally separated several years after marrying and their daughter is under the Megastar’s custody.
She was vocal in one of her vlogs before that she shouldn’t have hurried before and admitted that she had harbored a bit of regret for marrying at a young age. Facing responsibilities being a wife and a mother aside from being an actress has changed most of her plans like traveling the world and studying. However, the most beautiful thing about it to her is having a child which is the reason why she cannot entirely call it a mistake.
And in a report from PUSH, she recounted her old days saying that she did miss out a lot when she became a wife and a mother. These significant roles changed her life and plans and she wasn’t able to maximize her days as a youth because of this. She shared that she had to leave her school when she was just in the 11th grade to marry.
The Megastar added, “That’s one thing lang, hindi ako nakatapos pero ang dami namang nag-aaral para makakuha ng trabaho after. I just did it the other way around. Tapos nung hindi ako nakatapos, kasi may babies na ako, eh, it was taking time away from….”
She tried to juggle motherhood with the role of being a wife and a megastar but she just couldn’t take the heat of how heavy these responsibilities have done all at once. She decided to stop schooling. She took up a course in UP (Open University) but she wasn’t able to finish a degree.
