Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto Under Quarantine After Driver Dies of Coronavirus Disease
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that he is currently under quarantine after his driver passed away due to the coronavirus disease.
Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Nubla Sotto or popularly known as Vico Sotto is the 20th and incumbent mayor of Pasig, Metro Manila. He is best known for his anti-corruption advocacy and commitment to transparency.
On Monday (March 15, 2021), Mayor Vico Sotto said that he was exposed to his driver who tested positive for the coronavirus disease about two weeks ago. His driver passed away last week.
The 31-year-old mayor also canceled his meetings and appointments due to his situation. He could not also go to office during the quarantine period but he could conduct meeting using online apps.
“Hindi muna ako makakapasok sa trabaho at kina-cancel ko muna ang mga appointment at meeting. Kung maaari ay via Viber at Zoom muna,” Sotto said.
