CHAPTER 10 NOLI ME TANGERE

The novel is one of the connected novels that were written by the Philippine national hero Jose Rizal (full name Jose Protacio Mercado Rizal y Alonzo Realonda).

He wrote the novel to make Filipinos see the abuse of power the priests show during the Spanish Colonization period.

The town of San Diego is surrounded by vast fields near a lake and river. Its scenery is so beautiful that many have visited this wonderful town.

San Diego also has a forest with some history. A long time ago, an old Spaniard was interested in an area near the forest.

Despite no one owning the land, the old Spaniard gave a few coins and some things like clothes and jewelry to the locals.

One day, they discovered that the old man died in the forest. No one knew the actual reason of his demise.

A few months after, the old man’s son Don Saturnino arrived at the town of San Diego and had a family. He had a son named Don Rafael, the father of Crisostomo Ibarra
