Davao Mayor Baste Duterte Criticizes Marcos Jr. Admin Anew
BASTE DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor spoke at the RAGE coalition’s launching and criticized the Marcos Jr. administration over alleged corruption.
The huge gap between the Duterte family and the Marcos Jr. administration is no secret to the Filipino people. It was greatly triggered by the arrest and the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
The elder Duterte has celebrated two (2) birthdays already inside the ICC detention facility after the March 11, 2025 arrest. Then, Davao Mayor Baste Duterte said that they will fight back and told Pres. Bongbong Marcos that he will never be loved.
The younger Duterte also stressed that it was his father who allowed the burial of the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng mga Bayani but it was Marcos Jr. who sent his father to The Hague. The youngest son of the former President won vice mayor of Davao City in the 2025 Midterm Elections. The former President won the mayoralty race.
However, due to his father’s detention under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands, eventually, the younger Duterte had to formally assume the role he was supposedly set to exit from. The acting vice mayor of Davao now is another Duterte — the grandson of FPRRD and the son of Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte, Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II.
Recently, Davao Mayor Baste Duterte officially took the position as the president of the PDP-Laban, his father’s political party. He will also lead the Reform Alliance for Good Governance and Accountability coalition or more popularly known as the RAGE. Based on a report on GMA News, at the launching, he criticized the Marcos Jr. admin anew over the alleged corruption.
“Isang ulo lang naman ang kailangan namin. Ang ulo ni Bongbong Marcos,” Mayor Baste said based on the report.
At the said event, known Duterte ally Senator Robin Padilla also hinted at the possible presidential bid of Mayor Baste Duterte aside from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
