Tulfo Can Do As He Pleases – Roque Says Tulfo Can’t Be Compelled To Cooperate With Vaccine Probe
TULFO CAN DO AS HE PLEASES – Recently, columnist and previous special envoy for public diplomacy to China Mon Tulfo went viral for admitting to using smuggled vaccines.
However, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, even President Duterte cannot compel him to cooperate with investigations into the smuggled vaccine use. Additionally, Roque explained that Tulfo was now a private citizen no longer connected with the government.

“As far as Mon Tulfo is concerned, he clarified, he is no longer special envoy to China. He is a private citizen so he can do as he pleases“, Roque said. Furthermore, he noted how Duterte does not have subpoena powers to do so.
Previously, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that they would begin a probe on the use of smuggled COVID-19 vaccines by some groups. Meanwhile, Tulfo stated that he, some government officials, and members of the Presidential Security Group all took the same vaccine.
During his televised briefing, Roque was asked whether or not the government would ask Tulfo to cooperate with investigations. But, Roque responded in the negative and emphasized that:
The President is a President, not a policeman, not an NBI agent. We leave that to the police and to the NBI
