Aspiring Lawyer Security Guard Earned Praise Online After Inspiring Story Goes Viral
A security guard who works hard to become a successful lawyer admired by many netizens after his inspiring story goes viral on social media.
The security guard who is trying to fulfill his dream of becoming a lawyer was admired by many Filipino netizens. Johnny Abbang, Jr. is the security in charge of a condominium where lawyer Atty. Keij Ejercito.
Ejercito shared on her Facebook account the inspiring story of Abbang. She said she noticed Abbang was studying criminology and often read law books. When the security guard found out that she was a lawyer, she often threw questions at her.
“Actually hindi lang po ako, maraming ibang abogado na nakatira rito sa building. Tinatanong din po bigla niya ng mga recit questions. ‘Oh, tama ba yung chain of custody ng drugs, Atty.? ‘Di ba ganito?’ Nagpapa-clarify po siya ng questions kaya nakakatuwa,” she said on the interview with DZMM.

Ejercito also shared that she was pleased with him so she gave him a new law book with his name engraved on it and a note saying “para sa future abogado ng bayan.”
Abbang is said to be determined to take the law. In fact, he has completed his criminology course this year and will also take care of the requirements for law school.
“Unfortunately, isa po yun sa mga binubuno natin ngayon, hindi po niya makuha yung credentials niya doon sa school kasi may pending payments pa siya. Pero natapos niya na ‘yong course work. Hindi siya makapag-entrance exam sa mga law school without the transcript of records,” aniya
At first, Abbang was still hesitant but Ejercito encouraged him. Ejercito also used to combine study and work to graduate law. Ejercito reminded me that this is not about speeding up, the important thing is that he finishes his law.
