The Philippine government agencies, DILG, NHA and DSWD are now gathering data of squatter families on waterways who are up for relocation. According to the previous report, the government will provide P18,000 rental subsidy for squatter.
According to Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman they will start gathering data with those living near the San Juan River and the Tullahan River.
The DSWD will conduct the data-gathering together with the DILG and the NHA. Soliman stated that those families who will receive a rental subsidy of P18,000 will be made to sign a contract and will be monitored by the LGU to make sure that they don’t return to the danger zones.
