DOH Records On Coronavirus Cases in the Philippines
DOH – The Department of Health revealed the total cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 recorded in the Philippines as of May 29.
The fight against COVID-19 spread continues for over 200 countries and territories across the globe. It is roughly five (5) months that the world is battling against this pandemic.
The COVID-19 was first recorded in China last December 2019. It infected over 82,000 people in China and at least 4,000 died due to the disease. Wuhan City, the epicenter of the virus, was locked for over two (2) months.
China is recovering now but several countries are still struggling from coronavirus outbreak. The United States now has the highest COVID-19 cases at 1.7 million.
Philippines is one of the countries battling against COVID-19 spread now. The entire nation is currently under a community quarantine.
A Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) was declared in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Laguna province. Most parts of the country are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Beginning June 1, most parts of the Philippines will be under a Modified General Community Quarantine (MECQ). Some high risk areas will be downgraded to GCQ.
Currently, there is a total of 16,634 cases of coronavirus recorded in the Philippines according to the Department of Health. The DOH reported 1,046 new cases yesterday, May 29.
Twenty-one (21) new deaths were recorded by the health department bringing the death toll to 942. On the positive side, there are 122 new recoveries resulting to a total of 3,720 recoveries from coronavirus now.
