Claudine Barretto Reminisces Working w/ Vilma Santos in “Anak” Movie
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress spoke on working with veteran actress Vilma Santos in the hit movie “Anak”.
In the Philippine entertainment industry, one of the hit movies that many have watched and won’t surely forget is the movie “Anak”. It was in year 2000 when this movie crossed the big screen and touched countless hearts.
Directed by Rory Quintos, this movie is mainly starred by Vilma Santos. She plays the character of a mother who worked abroad for her family and returned home hated by her children most especially her eldest.
Actress Claudine Barretto played the character of the eldest daughter of Vilma Santos in the movie “Anak”. Several hit scenes brought the viewers to tears as the mother struggled to fix her relationship with her children.
It is two (2) decades now since “Anak” crossed the big screen and the hit movie is still a favorite of many people. It has greatly touched hearts and many will never forget it.
Recently, Claudine Barretto reminisced working with Vilma Santos in the movie Anak. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the actress surprised the Star for All Seasons on the online show “I Feel U”.
Claudine expressed that she is really “honored” to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the movie. She revealed that she is really a “Vilmanian” since she was a child.
Claudine Barretto even tagged working with Vilma Santos in Anak as a “ultimate dream come true”. It was fine with her not to be an actress anymore as long as she got to do a project with the Star for All Seasons.
“Sabi ko nga noon kay tita Malou (Santos) nung inoffer ang ‘Anak,’ okay na akong hindi mag-artista basta makasama si Ate Vi,” Claudine expressed based on the report.
With regards to her preparation for the movie, Claudine expressed that Vilma never told her what to do and she only had to focus. Because of Ate Vi’s portrayal of her character, the actress said that she understood more about a mother’s love.
According to Claudine, it was because of Vilma that she learned to love her parents more. She called her as really one of her mentors when she was at her lowest point in life.
