Malacañang Palace Reveals Truth Behind Rumors That President Duterte Is Currently Confined in Hospital
The Malacañang Palace finally revealed the truth behind the rumors that President Rodrigo Duterte is currently confined at the hospital.
On Thursday (April 2, 2020), presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo denied the circulating rumors about President Duterte’s alleged confinement at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City. The spokesperson even described the rumors as “absolutely false”.
Panelo made the statement a day after Mr. Duterte addressed the public. He also said that the Philippine president is fit and healthy despite being on self-quarantine after his exposure to some officials who tested positive for coronavirus disease.
“We wish to inform the public that such information is absolutely false. The President is fit and healthy and is currently doing his presidential duties at his official residence at the Bahay Pagbabago,” Panelo said.
The Palace spokesman reminded the public to be more aware of rumors and fake news circulating on social media. He also told the people to refrain from spreading unverified information to avoid giving misleading details to the public.
President Duterte’s self-quarantine is set to end on April 7, 2020 (Tuesday).
