Isko Moreno Signs New Ordinance That Benefits Senior Citizens
ISKO MORENO – Mayor Isko Moreno signed a new city ordinance granting a P800 birthday gift for the elderly persons in Manila.
Actor-turned-politician Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is the 27th mayor of the city of Manila. He has made several changes in the city including the clearing of sidewalk vendors in Divisoria, new programs and strict implementation of city ordinance.
Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte praised the 44-year-old politician. He even admitted that he’s better than him. Moreno returns the president’s compliment saying he’s the one who “inspired” him.
Recently, Isko Moreno personally handed the P100K to a centenarian in Manila. The video of their encounter touched the hearts of the netizens. The mayor never fails to impress on social media. He’s definitely a role model for other mayors.
On Monday, Moreno signed a new city ordinance that benefits the senior citizens in Manila. The City Ordinance No. 8570 grants all the elderly in the city a P800 birthday gift starting next year.
Isko Moreno also noted the senior citizens in Manila elderly people will also receive cakes. He admitted that he copied the idea from Makati City. He said he’s not ashamed of copying as long as it’s for the improvement of his city.
“If Makati can do it, why not Manila?”
“I hope you don’t get a bad impression of me copying things, at ako naman hindi mahihiya mangopya ng mangopya,” he added.
The senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities in the city are also entitled to receive P500 monthly allowance.
