The pair of kidneys inside our body is among the most important organ that we should have. It plays crucial role in our body such as maintaining overall fluid balance, filtering waste materials from food, medications, and toxic substances, and among others.

- Pyelonephritis – Its most common cause is the spread of bacteria from an untreated bladder infection. It usually gives you back pain and fever.
- Glomerulonephritis – The most common problem of this is the blood and protein in urine which may eventually fall to kidney failure.
- Kidney stones – One of the most painful conditions where minerals from urine form stones that are large enough to block the urine flow.
- Nephrotic syndrome – Swelling of the leg is one of the symptoms. This damage in kidney causes to release an amount of protein in the urine.
- Polycystic kidney disease – This is where kidneys have both large cysts which hinders their function.
- Acute renal failure – Dehydration, a blockage in the urinary tract, or kidney damage can make you obtain this condition.
- Chronic renal failure – This is commonly caused by diabetes and high blood pressure.
- End-stage renal disease (ESRD) – This condition is where both kidneys have lost strength to work and function. This requires regular dialysis for survival.
- Papillary necrosis – A severe damage that breaks off kidney tissues internally and clogging which may lead to total kidney failure.
- Diabetic nephropathy – High blood sugar due to diabetes damages the kidneys.
- Hypertensive nephropathy – This is caused by high blood pressure.
- Kidney cancer – This is most commonly caused by smoking.
- Interstitial nephritis – A condition where there is inflammation to the connective tissue of the kidney caused by allergic reactions and drug side effects..
- Minimal change disease – This can cause leg swelling and can be treated with steroids.
- Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus – This conditions can cause constant thirst and frequent urination as the kidneys fail to concentrate the urine over drug reaction.
- Renal cyst – This a hollowed-out space in kidney according to WebMD.
