Ex-Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s Offer of Reconciliation Not Accepted by Davao Mayor Sara Duterte
SARA DUTERTE – Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is not reconciling with former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
One of the most prominent political feud in 2018 is between Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and then House Speaker Pantaleon “Bebot” Alvarez.
The conflict between the two(2) popular politicians sparked after the then House Speaker allegedly accused the presidential daughter of being a member of the opposition.
The issue heightened. Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s name was even dragged on the removal of speakership from Pantaleon Alvarez. He was replaced by former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In the recent Election 2019, former House Speaker Alvarez ran as the representative of the first district of Davao del Norte. He won the political bid while the presidential daughter was re-elected as Davao City mayor.
Previously, following the election, Alvarez expressed an offer of peace. Many speculate that he is offering reconciliation to the Davao City Mayor.
Recently, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte spoke on the offer of peace by former House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez.
Based on the report, Duterte is not accepting the offer of reconciliation from Alvarez. According to her, he remains to be a risky man “who does not deserve peace”.
According to the presidential daughter, the peace offer lacks sincerity and it is deceiving.
“Unknown to him [Alvarez], he was surreptitiously videotaped when he threatened, after his win… ‘Ipapahiya ko si Sara’,” she claimed.
Based on the report, with regards to the speakership in the Congress, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is not in favor of Cong-elect Alan Peter Cayetano. According to her, he previously warned her not to endorse his political rival.
The presidential daughter admitted that she has her own bet but she stressed that it is best if the members of the House of Representatives would decided for it.
