Under the ordinance, teachers and guidance counselors were advised to reprimand the children caught swearing and summon their parents.

A report from ABS-CBN News says that Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan further expressed that the students are at risk of expulsion should they violate the ordinance further. He added that they’ve noticed that swearing and lewd language is very common. The ordinance is passed to prevent profanity from becoming a normality to children.

Tourists are not excluded as the government will tell them to stop due to the ordinance if they got caught swearing.

As per the report, public spaces, which were occupied by children will display signage that would say “Swearing Is Not Allowed”.
