Raquel Pempengco, the mother of Jake Zyrus- formerly known as Charice Pempengco, still does not accept the singer’s gender preference as a transman.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, January 17, Raquel Pempengco greets her youngest son Carl Pempengco who’s celebrating his birthday today and according to her, the “kaisa-isang lalaki” in their clan.
PEP.ph reached her via the social networking site to ask if she doesn’t consider Jake Zyrus as a man.
But she did not directly reply to the question. Nevertheless, she responded with another question which clearly shows that she still doesn’t accept Jake’s preference.
Formerly known as international singing sensation Charice Pempengco, he was once regarded as having vocal prowess and hitting high notes in his shows and performances.
It was in June 2017 when Charice Pempengco changed her name to Jake Zyrus which shocked her fans and her family as well.
Jake Zyrus then admitted that he had been taking testosterone shots as part of his transition to becoming a trans man.
