Wowowin Honors About 800 Soldiers As Marawi Heroes

The Philippine afternoon variety show “Wowowin” and its host Willie Revillame honors about 800 soldiers who were tagged as Marawi Heroes.

On October 26 and 27 episode of the variety show Wowowin, Willie Revillame will honor over 800 soldiers who fought the terrorists in Marawi City. The brave fighters were dubbed as heroes for putting their lives at stake just to protect the country.

The young singer Esang de Torres will sing the original composition of Vehnee Saturno entitled “Awit sa Marawi”. Esang’s emotion in singing the song will truly melt the hearts of the listeners.

“The two episodes serve as my tribute not only to the 800 gallant soldiers who fought a good fight but also to their comrades who died with their boots on. You will see them on the show, their faces still showing signs of the brutal war,” said by Willie Revillame quoted by Philstar.

The 56-year-old host said that everything is unscripted as the soldiers will recall their experience during the bloody siege in the beleaguered city of Marawi.

Revillame also explained that the brave fighters will really tell the happenings during the clash between the government troops and the Maute Terror Group. He also said that AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Eduardo Año will appear on the show as a special guest.

The host will raffle off more than P3 million cash, three houses and lots donated by former Sen. Manny Villar and his wife Sen. Cynthia Villar.

The celebrity explained that it was his humble way to acknowledge and honor the great service of our soldiers for the country.
