Cops Arrest 2 Individuals in Fake Luxury Bag Scam in Parañaque

Two individuals involved in a fake luxury bag scam were arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

On Thursday (February 26, 2026), the arrest came after a complaint about the sale of fake luxury bags worth hundreds of thousands of pesos.

The suspects were identified by their aliases Glenn, 25, and Imel, 29. Their arrest followed a report from a 29-year-old call center agent who said she had been tricked into buying a high-end bag earlier this month.

The victim paid P700,000 for a bag presented to her as a Birkin Hermes. After having the item checked by a professional, she found out that it was not authentic.

Despite the earlier issue, the suspects reportedly contacted the woman again on February 26. This time, they offered another expensive item, a Kelly 25 Hermes bag, priced at P950,000. Instead of agreeing right away, the victim decided to seek help from the authorities.

With the assistance of the police, a meeting was arranged between the buyer and the suspects. This meeting became the setup for an entrapment operation. Once the transaction was underway, officers stepped in and arrested the two individuals.

During the operation, police recovered two Kelly 25 Hermes bags, one white and one black. They also found a Chanel item, a Coach bag, and a magnifying loupe glass. Authorities believe the glass may have been used to convince buyers that the bags were genuine.

The suspects are now facing charges of estafa or swindling. The case has been forwarded to the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office for further legal action.
