Amid the Flood Control Investigation, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla Speaks on Zaldy Co
DILG – Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla is asking the Filipinos to report to the government if they see Zaldy Co who has a pending arrest warrant.
The investigation on the supposed multi-billion flood control mess is ongoing and arrest warrants have already been issued against some of the accused. One of the subjects of the issued arrest warrants is Zaldy Co.

Zaldy Co is the former chairman of the House Budget Appropriations Committee. Amid the accusations of alleged corruption against him, he resigned from being the representative of Ako Bicol Partylist. He was reportedly in abroad already when the allegations against him broke out.
Amid the calls for him to return to the Philippines and face the allegations, Zaldy Co tagged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the supposed multi-billion corruption. According to him, the President and the former House Speaker allegedly received a P56-billion kickback.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos dared Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines following the corruption accusations against him. According to the Palace, Co allegedly wants the flood control investigation to stop so he implicated the President.

DILG chief Jonvic Remulla is confident that those who will be found guilty in the flood control corruption will be jailed. He recent reaffirmed the commitment of the Marcos Jr. in pursuing accountability — a call of the Filipino people.
Recently, the DILG Secretary also spoke about Zaldy Co. Based on a post of The Philippine Star on social media, he requested the Filipinos to immediately report to the government or post on social media if they ever see the resigned House member somewhere.
“Nakikiusap kami sa lahat ng Pilipino sa buong mundo na kung makita nila si Zaldy Co, kung pwede nilang picture-an, padala kagad, post nila sa internet para may idea tayo kung nasaan siya,” the DILG Secretary said.

Based on the post, Interior Sec. Remulla revealed their suspicion that Zaldy Co is possibly in Portugal now. According to him, the resigned House member is allegedly a holder of two (2) passports. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that they have yet to cancel Co’s passport.
“Sa ngayon ang hinala namin ay nasa Portugal siya at doon siya naninirahan,” he said.
Recently, Zaldy Co claimed that Senator Chiz Escudero is allegedly behind the cuts in the budget for the Department of Education (DepEd), PhilHealth, and DA (Department of Agriculture).
