Amid the Flood Control Mess, Zaldy Co Uses Online Platforms in Expressing Side
ZALDY CO – The resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative posted more photos of alleged “deliveries” to President Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The flood control mess in the Philippines triggered the “Trillion Peso March” after several officials of the government were tagged in the supposed multi-billion corruption. Thousands of Filipinos including several showbiz celebrities joined the said action protest held last September 21.
Zaldy Co, then a representative of Ako Bicol Partylist, was one of the government officials who were implicated in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption. He was out of the country when controversial contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused him of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects.
However, after resigning from being a member of the House of Representatives, Co spoke his side through a series of videos posted online. According to him, he is concerned over his safety so he did not return to the country. He also claimed that he was allegedly threated by former Speaker Martin Romualdez not to go back.
Zaldy Co implicated Marcos Jr. and former Speaker Romualdez in the supposed “kickback system”. According to him, the President allegedly ordered a P100-billion budget insertion in the 2025 national funds and got all the P56 billion kickback from it.
Malacañang previously defended Marcos Jr. from the corruption allegations. According to Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, Co dragged the name of the President as he allegedly wants the investigation to stop. She also stressed that the accusations against the resigned House member is based on evidence, testimony, and his properties.
Recently, Zaldy Co once again made an accusing move against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez. Amid the accusations against him, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced the arrest warrants against Zaldy Co and several others. He also asserted that he was the one who started the flood control investigation and he will finish it.
