PAGASA issued an update about Nando PH, and these areas are under Signal No. 1.
NANDO PH – Here’s the latest weather update from PAGASA about the typhoon and the areas under Signal No. 1.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released the latest information about Nando, which is now in the typhoon category. Nando can possibly reach Wind Signal No. 5 and may develop into a super typhoon.

Based on the latest date, September 20, Nando had further intensified while moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea at 10 km/h. The center of the eye at 4 PM was at 770 km East of Echague, Isabela (16.9°N, 128.9°E), and has an intensity of maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 170 km/h, and a central pressure of 970 hPa.
As of this writing, tropical cyclone wind signals are in effect.

- Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Quirino, the northeastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Kasibu, Quezon, Diadi, Bagabag, Villaverde, Solano, Ambaguio, Bayombong, Bambang, Dupax del Norte), Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, the northern portion of Ilocos Sur (Sinait, Cabugao, San Juan, Magsingal, San Vicente, San Ildefonso, Santo Domingo, Bantay, Santa Catalina, City of Vigan, Santa, Caoayan), the northern and central portions of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, Baler) and the northern and central portions of Catanduanes (Pandan, Caramoran, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Gigmoto, San Miguel, Baras)
As mentioned, the highest Wind Signal that may be raised during Nando’s passage is Signal No. 5.
The Southwest Monsoon, enhanced by the trough of NANDO, will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas:
- September 20: Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga
- September 21: Metro Manila, Central Luzon (areas not under wind signal), CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental
- September 22: Central Luzon (areas not under wind signal), Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental
Based on the forecast, it will continue to intensify and will reach the super typhoon category by Monday, and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Tuesday.
