Pres. Marcos Jr. Speaks on Public Rage vs. Corruption in PH
MARCOS JR. – The President claimed that he might join the protest actions against corruption if he is not president of the country.
Countless Filipinos were left disappointed by the discovery of anomalous flood control projects funded by the government. Previously, during a press conference, Pres. Bongbong Marcos exposed that the country has spent P545 billion for the flood control projects under his term.

Unfortunately, amid the country’s huge spending on flood control deals, several areas across the nation are still usually left flooded when heavy rains hit PH. Aside from revealing the expenses of the government on the flood control projects, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also flagged the 15 contractors that got around P100 billion from the said total flood control projects spending of the country.

Amid the issue, both the Senate and the House of Representatives opened an investigation on the anomalous flood control projects of the government. Pres. Bongbong Marcos also ordered the creation of an independent body that will probe the infrastructure projects of the government.

Malacañang has already released the order as well as the names of the members of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or the ICI. The independent body has wide broad of powers which include the subpoena power as well as the power to move for the seizure of assets linked to anomalies.
Amid the issue of flood control corruption the Philippines, several groups and individuals set protests to expressed their sentiments against what is happening in the country now. Recently, Marcos Jr. aired his side over these protest actions.

Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that he brought up the issue because he wants a solution for it. He emphasized that the problem has caught national awareness because of what he did.
‘Well, that is only if we don’t do anything about it. What we have found… you have to remember I brought this up and it is my interest that we find a solution to what has become very egregious problem and since this has all been exposed well it’s actually known to many people but it has now been exposed to the general public,” the President said.
According to Marcos Jr., what is happening in the Philippines now is not right. Based on the report, he claimed that he might also be out in the streets if he is not the president of the country now.
”Do you blame them for going out to the street? If I wasn’t President, I might be out in the streets with them. So, you know, of course they are enraged, they are angry. I’m angry. We should all be angry because what’s happening is not right,” Marcos Jr. said.
Several government officials who are allies of the President are linked to the flood control corruption. According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez, and his allies will not be spared from the flood control probe.
