Kapuso actress Max Collins reveals how she and Pancho Magno realized that they were better off as friends despite being married.
For many separated couples, raising a child together can come with challenges. But for Max Collins and Pancho Magno, their priority has always been making sure their son, Skye, grows up feeling loved and supported by both of them despite their decision to part ways.
Max and Pancho have been active as co-parents, and their setup is admirable because of the peace and security that comes from both of them for the sake of their son.
In a recent interview, Max shared how she and Pancho have managed to establish a healthy co-parenting setup by emphasizing that both of them remain actively involved in their son’s life. Both of them are present in their child’s life.
They were able to build a setup that allows them to adjust to each other’s schedules. When one of them becomes busy with work, the other takes the lead in caring for Skye.
As for their relationship, the pandemic became a turning point for them as they realized they were better off as friends. It has made her reassess her priorities, particularly when it comes to being a mother to their son, Skye.
Max said she realized that she could not give her best to her child if she herself was unhappy. She expressed, “Especially during the pandemic, I realized you only live one life, hindi mo alam kung anong mangyayari bukas and it’s like if you are not happy how can you give your best to your child. And I couldn’t give my best to my child at that time. So, now that we are separated, I can say we both can give our one hundred percent to our son.”
She explained that after their separation, both she and Pancho were able to give their full attention and effort to their son.
As for Skye, their son has adjusted to their family setup. There was one time when Skye asked why she and his father lived in different houses.
“And I explained to him, isn’t it cool you have two houses. Other people only have one. You have two families that super love you. You have two of everything and then he kinda has a different perspective of it now kasi hindi naman niya nakita na magkasama kami as a unit eh, so for him he thinks it’s cool also he has two of everything,” she said.
