The Things Ferdinand Marcos Lied About, Stated On NHCP’s Letter To President Duterte
National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) discussed the things where the former President Ferdinand Marcos lied about.
Marcos burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani was asked by NHCP Chair Maria Serena Diokno to be reconsidered, on the letter, she sent to President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday (November 11, 2016). Diokno said in the letter that their appeal was based on Marcos historical backgrounds and not only from a narrow, short-sighted reading.
The late president lied about his involvement in the military, according to NHCP. The agency shows their study on the record and found out the following:
- War medals claimed by Marcos from the U.S are highly questionable, as he also claims his authorized biographies. So the agency has a strong reason to doubt Marcos upon receiving those stuff.
- Marcos lied about his rank.
- U.S government never recognized “Maharlika,” Marcos’ guerrilla unit.
