Sen. Grace Poe Reacts To Dog Shot with Indian Arrows in Negros Occidental

GRACE POE – The Senator reacted on the incident in Negros Occidental wherein a dog was shot with Indian arrows.

Countless people are dog lovers and even individuals who are not that close to dogs were moved and felt pity towards the dog who was shot with Indian arrows in the province of Negros Occidental. The poor creature was shot five (5) times.

The dog was identified as TikTok and it was shot at Hda. Puyas, Blumentritt, Murcia in Negros Occidental. Countless people and several animal groups called for justice for TikTok and a reward was even raised in the pursuit to find the people behind the unfortunate incident.

The Animal welfare group BACH Project PH immediately went to the location to assist in bringing TikTok to the nearest veterinary clinic. The dog went through surgery and is now under a close monitoring.

TikTok got anti-tetanus shots, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicine, and pain relievers to help him in recovering from its wounds. The dog is also under a laser therapy for seven days to fast track the healing of its wounds and reduce the inflammation.

Several individuals have pledged for a reward to those who can identify the suspect(s) behind what happened to TikTok. Here is a list of the rewards:

  • Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas — P10,000
  • Senator JV Ejercito — P15,000
  • anonymous donor — P5,000 and an iPhone XR
  • gaming video creator Hypebits — P100,000

Recently, Sen. Grace Poe reacted to the issue. Based on a report on Inquirer, the lawmaker urges help from the dwellers in the area in locating the people who shot the dog with Indian arrows in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Sen. Grace Poe stressed that those who will be found responsible on what was done to TikTok deserve to be punished. Based on the report, the lady Senator said that the action has no place in the society.

“Such cruelty to an innocent creature has no place in our civilized society,” the Senator said.

Based on the report, Sen. Grace Poe called on the immediate passage of the revised Animal Welfare Act that will strengthen the existing law on animal welfare and boost the barangays to be more responsive against animal cruelty.

“There is still time to pass this when Congress returns to session and we hope our colleagues will not let pass this chance to do a compassionate act,” Poe said.
