Family of Mother Lily Monteverde Confirms Movie Producer’s Death
MOTHER LILY MONTEVERDE – The family of the Regal Entertainment’s Movie Mogul confirmed her death which came 6 days after her husband, Remy’s, death.
One of the pillars of the Philippine movie-making industry is Mother Lily. She is Regal Entertainment’s matriarch and she is most popular for the films Shake, Rattle, & Roll; Scorpio Nights; Mano Po; and Relasyon among many others.
Mother Lily Monteverde played a big part in the success of the showbiz careers of several known personalities in the entertainment industry. Among her “Regal Babies” are Gabby Concepcion, Snooky Serna, Albert Martinez, Dina Bonnevie, Alma Moreno, Maricel Soriano, and Ruffa Gutierrez. Mother Lily is close to many filmmakers including direk Maryo delos Reyes.
Several actors and actresses in the showbiz industry treat Mother Lily like their second mother as she also treats them like their own children. Sadly, the Regal Entertainment and the Philippine movie-making industry has lost a gem.
The family of Mother Lily Monteverde recently announced that she passed away at 3:18 in the morning of August 4, 2024. Her death came six days after the passing of her husband, Remy Monteverde, who died last July 29.
The Monteverde patriarch was 86 years old at the time of his death while Mother Lily is 85 years old when she died. She’s about to celebrate her 86th birthday on August 19. The couple is survived by their children, Winston, Meme, Roselle, Dondon and Goldwin; in-laws Stephen and Grace; grandchildren Keith, Theo, Bridget, Matthew, Redwin, Jewel and Kristen; granddaughter-in-law Winni; and great-grandchild Mikayla.
In a statement released by the family to announce the death of Mother Lily Monteverde, the Monteverde family stated that she’s blessed with the chance to say goodbye to her family and loved ones before she died. She passed away surrounded by her family who is now at peace that their mother and father are now together as they are called for eternity.
The family of Regal Entertainment’s movie mogul requests for prayers and to cherish their mother’s not only as a face of the Philippine cinema but as a loving mother. Regal Entertainment posted the statement of the family of the late film icon to announce her passing with heavy hearts on the loss of a “true visionary” and its cornerstone.
Based on the statement of the family of Mother Lily Monteverde, the wake and memorial service for the late film icon will start today, August 5, Monday at 3:30 p.m. until August 9. The wake will be held at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City. She is set to be laid to her final rest on August 10 at The Heritage Park, Taguig.
