Direk Maryo reportedly died at the age of 65. Based on a report, he suffered a heart attack when he was at a party in Dipolog City.

Based on the report, Mother Lily Monteverde gave Direk Maryo a lot and a condominium unit in Imperial Hotel. The lot given by the Regal film producer is the lot where hot spring resort of the late filmmaker is built in Laguna.
Mother Lily greatly loves Direk Maryo. She even reportedly offered a prayer for him before the grand press conference of Regal’s Valentine movie My Fairy Tale Love Story.
