Actress Angel Locsin is the best Darna, this is what veteran actress Celia Rodriguez said in a recent interview.
Angel is one of the prominent actresses who played the iconic Pinay superhero character. She starred in a Darna series on GMA which aired in 2005. There had been many actresses who played this character before and after her.
Angel was supposed to do a Darna movie when she transferred to ABS-CBN. However, due to a back injury, this project did not push through.
Even though Angel Locsin has been inactive in showbiz since 2020, her fans are still active in showing support for her on social media with the anticipation that she will have her showbiz comeback.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz, Celia Rodriguez expressed that Angel is the best Darn and she received negative reactions because of this.
“That is my prerogative who is the best Darna, sabi ko si Angel Locsin! Binash ako!” the veteran actress said. She worked with Angel in the 2005 Darna series as the character Braguda.
Celia has worked with other Darna actresses and when asked who is the best, she chose to give her honest answer rather than be a hypocrite. “I’ve worked with Marian (Rivera-Dantes), I’ve worked with Angel, I’ve worked with Vilma, lahat ‘yan nag-Darna, so I can compare, e, si Angel talaga pinakamagaling. I’m sorry, e, ‘yun ang choice ko,” she said.
The veteran actress stressed that she is not a hypocrite person and that what people see is what they get. She added that she wants to be true to herself. Celia said that other Darna actresses were all good but she was asked who was the best and she just gave her answer.
Celia Rodriguez explained why it was Angel Locsin for her, and it is because the latter did not have a stunt double. The actress in hiatus really did the dangerous fighting scenes.
