Serbia bowed to an all-star USA team in the championship, 96-66.
RIO DE JANEIRO – Team USA proves their greatness in the men’s basketball as they pounded on the Serbian team with a 30-point lead in the championship match in the 2016 Olympic games held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Team USA waved their flag when they ended the final quarter with 96-66 in the scoreboard.
Kevin Durant contributed 30 points while DeMarcus Cousins recorded 15 rebounds.
USA made it hard for Serbia to advance until the latter was unable to do so from the first quarter upto the last minute of the game.
On Saturday, Serbia has already suffered upset with an NBA player in the team with powerhouse Team Australia in he semi-finals game.
For USA, this is their third consecutive gold medal in the Olympic games men’s basketball, folling Beijing and London Olympics.
The American basketball team in the 2016 edition of the Olympic Games is composed of NBA players.
From group stage until the end of the tournament, the US team has been undefeated.

Meanwhile, Team Spain got the bronze medal after defeating Australia in a very close fight with a score 89-88.
NBA star Pau Gasol gave 31 points and 11 rebounds.
It was a hard-earned win fro Spain because of the tight defensive tactics of Australia.
Sergio Rodriguez’ free throw locked the bronze medal in the Spaniards’ hands.
