Alexa Gutierrez, Wife of Elvis and Sister-in-Law of Ruffa Gutierrez, Dies at 38
RUFFA GUTIERREZ – The actress-beauty queen announced the death of her sister-in-law, Alexa Gutierrez, the wife of Elvis.
The Gutierrez clan is one of the most popular families in the Philippine showbiz industry. Both the patriarch and the matriarch of the family, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, are popular figures in the entertainment industry. Many of their children are also actors and actress.
Living celebrity lives, many of the happenings in the life of the Gutierrez family are not secrets to the public. It has been known for several months now that the wife of Eddie and Annabelle Rama’s son, Elvis, was battling leukemia.
Elvis Gutierrez is married to Alexandra Joelle “Alexa” Uichico-Gutierrez. It was in 2015 when the couple officially tied the knot after years of being together.
Elvis and Alexa are former schoolmates. Their marriage is blessed with two (2) daughters — Aria who is currently 9 years old and Ezra who is 7 years old.
Alexa was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a condition characterized by the overproduction of the white blood cells (WBC) compared with the red blood cells (RBC), in January 2024. It was shortly after their family trip in Japan when she got the bad news.
The Gutierrez family went to Japan for Christmas and New Year celebration. Then, one of the loudest rumors was the separation of Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati after her absence in their family trip triggered the speculations.
In the recent months after her diagnosis, Ruffa Gutierrez have constantly sought prayers for the recovery of her sister-in-law, Alexa. In July, Ruffa has even paid tribute to Alexa who’s battling leukemia. Sadly, recently, the actress-beauty queen announced the sad news — she has passed away.

The actress deeply mourns the passing of her sister-in-law whom she really loves and is “irreplaceable” in her heart. In her post, the actress said she’ll write more when she is able.
