PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that habagat will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.
On Thursday (June 6, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over parts of the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.
Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
“Mula ngayon hanggang Linggo next week, itong habagat ay magpapatuloy na maaapektuhan itong kanlurang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Aurelio said.
Possible flash floods or landslides are expected due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country. Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
PAGASA is not monitoring any weather disturbance around the Philippine area of responsibility.
Metro Manila will remain at a dangerous level at 41 degrees Celsius at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Pasay City station while the Science Garden in Quezon City will be at 40 degrees Celsius.

- Tacloban City: 27 to 32 °C
- Cagayan de Oro City: 27 to 32 °C
- Zamboanga City: 25 to 33 °C
- Davao City: 25 to 33 °C
