Before proceeding with the steps on how to cook Chicken and Pork Adobo, first, check the ingredients that you must prepare. To cook a dish that can serve up to eight (8) people, here are the ingredients that you must prepare:

  • 2 lbs chicken cut into serving pieces
  • 2 lbs pork belly chopped
  • 2 3/4 teaspoons whole peppercorn
  • 8 tablespoons vinegar white
  • 5 1/2 pieces dried bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 head garlic slightly crushed
  • 0.67 cup soy sauce
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 1/3 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2.67 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • salt to taste

If you already have the ingredients, you can start with the process in cooking the delicious Pinoy favorite dish. It may take around one (1) hour and 15 minutes. Here are the steps on how to cook Chicken and Pork Adobo:

Heat oil in a cooking pan. Once it is hot, toss in the garlic and fry it until its color turns golden brown. Afterwards, remove the garlic and set it aside for a while.

Add the chopped pork belly and the chicken cuts into the pan. Cook the meat for five (5) minutes or until its color turns light brown.

Add the bay leaves, the whole peppercorn, the soy sauce, the oyster sauce, and water. Let the mixture boil and simmer until the pork and chicken cuts are tender.

Add the sugar into the pan. Stir the Adobo until the sugar is fully dissolved. Afterwards, pour in the vinegar and let it boil. Allow it to simmer until the liquid evaporates.

Add salt to taste. Add the fried garlic that you have set aside and stir it to spread the garlic. Continue cooking the Adobo for two (2) minutes more.

Transfer your delicious Chicken and Pork Adobo into a serving plate and serve it with steamed with rice. Enjoy your meal!
