Sharon Cuneta Explains Why She’s Absent At KC’s ‘Asian Persuasion’ Premiere

KC Concepcion’s ‘Asian Persuasion’ film premiered and here’s why Sharon Cuneta was not at the event.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta explains why she was not at the premiere of ‘Asian Persuasion’, a film of her daughter KC Concepcion.

The world premiere of the debut film “Asian Persuasion” by Tony-winning Broadway producer Jhett Tolentino premiered in the Philippines on November 27 and will have a nationwide release on the 29th.

A special premiere in Tolentino’s home province of Iloilo is set for December 1.

During the premiere, veteran actor Gabby Concepcion walked down the red carpet with his daughter KC who is a part of the film. The absence of Megastar Sharon Cuneta was greatly noticed which made some wonder where she was during this event and why she was absent.

In an Instagram post, the Megastar gushed about this event and revealed the reason why she was not there. According to her, she went to another event, a charity event where she will be receiving an award.

She was pertaining to the Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 where she was given the Philippine Legacy Laurel Award in Music. 

“Happy to have received an award tonight but sad I couldn’t make habol to your premiere! Congrats, baby. Love you,” she wrote and addressed Concepcion. Apart from Cuneta, the other Legacy awardees of the event were jewelry designer Ann Ong and Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna.

It was a charity fashion event held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom on Monday. 

Meanwhile, the film is written by Mike Ang and was entirely shot in the Big Apple. The cast and crew were mostly Asians. KC was even able to work with Hollywood actors Dante Basco and Paolo Montalban.

Present at the premiere were Concepcion, Basco, Montalban, comedienne Fe delos Reyes, model-actor Kevin Kreider, Geneva Carr, writer Mike Ang, and director Jhett Tolentino.
