PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough and Southwest Monsoon to Bring Scattered Rains Over Parts of the Country
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA’s trough and habagat will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (September 27, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area and the southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that a low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility was last located 1,425 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.
Bardrina said that LPA’s trough will bring cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.
The habagat will bring similar weather conditions over Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro. Flash floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms, according to the weather agency.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
