2 Government Workers Seized with Illegal Drugs During Police Operation in Zamboanga
Police authorities arrested two (2) government workers during anti-illegal drugs operations in Zamboanga City.
In separate anti-drug operations over the last two weeks, Zamboanga City Police arrested 12 persons, including two government personnel. The cops seized illegal substances valued at more than PHP1 million.
According to Col Alexander Lorenzo, director of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), the largest narcotics haul was in this city’s Barangay Boalan. Victorio Jison, 44, and Samsuddin Agga, 54, were apprehended with 56 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP380,800.
Joerly Mendoza, 39, of Zone 8, Barangay Cawit, yields 49.9 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP339,320. Jimmy Sahibul, Mendoza’s accomplice, escaped. A motorcycle, a plastic bag, a box of electric bulbs, and 80 pieces of PHP1,000 bills mingled with genuine and labeled PHP200 bills were also seized in Mendoza.
Lorenzo reported last week that two suspects were apprehended with suspected shabu weighing 21.33 kilos worth PHP145,044 and 20 grams worth PHP136,000. Employees of the municipality of Siocon in Zamboanga del Norte and the Department of Public Works and Highways were also arrested.
