Thai Woman Leg Got Trapped in a Travelator at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport
A Thai woman lost her lower left leg after being trapped in a travelator at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
A female airline passenger’s left leg had to be amputated after it became jammed in a travelator at Bangkok Don Mueang airport. According to the story, the passenger fell over her suitcase while attempting to catch a flight.
Unfortunately, after tripping, the 57-year-old woman’s leg became entangled in the travelator. Social media photos show the woman, whose name has been suppressed, seated with her left leg locked in the travelator.
Her suitcase was also left without wheels. The lady was said to be distraught after discovering that his limb would have to be amputated. Her son stated that the family is shocked and concerned about her mental state.
“We got to speak to her a bit before and after the operation… Even though she showed her strength through facial expression and tone of voice, we knew that deep down she was broken because she suddenly lost a leg,” according to Kit Kittirattana, the victim’s son
“Our family knows very well that we can neither make her leg work like before, nor can we bring back the same life she had lived,” he added.
The event is being examined, according to airport director Karant Thanakuljeerapat. Based on the report, the airport’s management apologized for the event and said they would compensate the woman for the loss of her left leg.
They will also pay for medical bills. Thanakuljeerapat went on to say that the airport plans to replace some aging travelators by 2025. According to local media, the travelator that caused the woman to lose her leg had been in use since 1996.
