PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition, LPA Exits PAR
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that southwest monsoon will bring rains showers over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (June 28, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that a low pressure area being monitored inside the country’s vicinity has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It was last spotted 250 kilometers west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte outside PAR.
The southwest monsoon or locally known as ‘Habagat’ will be affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas. It will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zambales and Bataan.
“Ang southwest monsoon o habagat ang nakakaapekto partikular na sa Southern Luzon at Visayas kaya inaasahan natin na medyo maulap ang kalangitan partikular na sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon at Visayas,” Pagasa Weather Specialist Obet Badrina said.
The monsoon or localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas including Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Zambales, and Bataan to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
